Having said this what I enjoyed about this book was a huge sub-text that the author probably isn’t even aware of. If you were as clueless as me, it seemed that it had all the information that wasn’t in the brochure about being pregnant!

Everything you need to know about the scary parts, the funny parts and your kzz parts. I’m only up the duff kaz cooke the 10 week section now, am trying not to read ahead: Its light hearted, entertaining and whilst having a week by week approach I found myself reading ahead to see what each week had in store for Kaz.
Not a bad book, but I’m glad it wasn’t the only one I read.

This is the only pregnancy book I read. Definately worth spending your money on.

Each chapter also includes a fictional pregnancy diary which I found hilarious and endlessly reassuring and points readers towards a bunch of additional resources apps, books, websites, etc. Aswell as offering week by week information of baby’s progress and size, I found kqz book great entertainment and I love the comical approach she uses.

Reviewed by kbaker 4 April Overall I found it cloke be a great pregnancy tool, telling it like it is, no point of fluffing it up, childbirth and pregnancy and be daunting, great to hear there are other women out there just like me!!! Informative but entertaining at the same time. I was given it by one of my dudf and have now past in on to another one.
It’s very similar to Canada, though, and since I wasn’t looking for advice on whether to go with a midwife or not, kz was largely superfluous to me and I skimmed over it. This book discusses many nitty gritty details that can seem quite daunting and make them funny.
Sometimes I read ahead because I was so fascinated and I love the chapter beginnings like the ones quoted abovebut I also found that dyff I read ahead I would get confused over the weeks and forget where I was at that point in time, leading me to think my baby was bigger than it really was, for instance.
That happens to me too! At the same time, Up the Duff is very middle-of-the road with its advice. A good book for its entertainment value and the ruled pages of your baby’s current size! It gives you all the information – even the unpleasant stuff – without freaking you out or making you feel squeamish and I feel squeamish at just the word ‘episiotomy’.
I loved that they showed the measurements each week so I could see how big my baby was, and I loved hp “real girl” duuff
I was given this book for my baby shower, and I just love it! Aug 13, Hang Luong rated it it was amazing. She is generally quite relatable. Very funny and easy read- but still informative. My husband bought a bunch of pregnancy books when I first found out I was pregnant, all of which were invariably British or American, and I really struggled with them, finding them condescending or overly emotive.

Massively popular but I did not gel with the tone. Basically, for me, reading Up the Duff offered a lot of comfort and practical info. Honestly, the more Hhe read, the more it stressed me out, and stress, as Murkoff kept emphasising, is bad for the baby. Cooie is Prostaglandin, a kind of hormone; a synthetic version like a large pill put on the cervix can make it ripen.
These diary accounts must be an accumulation of Cooke’s own experiences, the experiences of others and a general sympathy towards what women go through. WIth my first pregnancy I read a LOT I literally absorbed books, most of them freaked me out, ocoke were devestating stories about pregnancies and babies gone wrong, as well as all the things that can go wrong with you.
Nov 21, Jack Kirby and the X-man rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: I’d have to say that this book was my primary reference for all things pregnancy.
I always looked forward to getting to the next week including the size ruler.
